I have read good things online about Tacos Frontera so I popped in today for lunch.
I had two tacos: Asada (beef) and Adobada (marinated pork), and both were very good. I also tried their Agua de Jamaica, one of the aguas frescas (fresh drinks) they offer.
Agua de Jamaica is hibiscus tea — a little sweet, but not too much — and absolutely delicious. The flavor reminds me a little of cranberry juice: slightly tart but with just a bit more sweetness than cranberry.
Anyway, the food: the tacos were really tasty, with mostly lean meat. I prefer meat that’s a little on the fatty side, but that’s just a personal bias. The corn tortillas are advertised as freshly made and were excellent. Great tacos always start with great tortillas.
When I finished the tacos I still wanted a little something more and thought about getting another taco, or maybe some guacamole, and at that moment a nice lady came by the table with some chicharrones (fried pork skin) and asked me if I wanted to try a complimentary order. (I accepted, let’s not be rude.) They were very good, crunchy and flavorful, especially topped off with some of their red and green salsas that were on the table.
Two thumbs up for Tacos Frontera. 👍🏼 👍🏼
